The Vitra Alcove Work Highback takes the idea of a private workstation and turns it into a beautifully resolved piece of furniture. Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, its vivid red quilted surround creates an unmistakable architectural presence while giving one person a more secluded place to sit and work.
What makes this particular configuration especially interesting is the integrated writing desk. The desktop lifts on gas struts to reveal useful storage underneath, with a further concealed compartment hidden at the bottom – a clever detail that is almost completely invisible when the desk is closed.

High upholstered side and back panels provide substantial visual and acoustic screening, creating a much more secluded individual workspace within an open office.

A fixed writing surface is integrated beside the seat, creating a convenient place for a laptop, documents or focused individual work without requiring a separate desk.
The desktop itself is hinged and supported by gas struts, allowing it to lift upwards and provide access to the storage box concealed beneath.
Inside the main storage area is a further hidden lower compartment, accessed via a discreet pin mechanism at the bottom. Once everything is closed, both storage areas are neatly concealed within the structure of the booth.

Condition: Excellent to mint condition, with minimal signs of previous use.
Appearance: The red quilted screens retain a particularly strong and consistent appearance, complemented by the dark seating and polished chrome frame. Only light cosmetic signs from previous office use are visible on the dark work surface.
Care: Professionally inspected. All upholstered screens will be professionally deep cleaned using a carpet/upholstery cleaning machine and appropriate cleaning chemicals prior to collection or dispatch.

🚚 Important Delivery & Collection Information
🏡 Delivery Access
- Your delivery address must allow access for a 7.5-tonne or larger truck
- Delivery is kerbside only, using a tail lift and pump truck, and is strictly ground floor only
- The courier will call you to arrange a delivery date once your pallet is in their system. Please inform them of any access restrictions
- You can choose the delivery day, but not the exact time — delivery happens anytime between 9am and 5pm, and someone must be available to sign for it
- There is no tracking number or delivery updates, so please make sure you are reachable
🛠 Dismantled Items
- Most items are delivered dismantled and safely packed
- Assembly manuals are not included, but when available:
- We can send helpful videos via WhatsApp
- You can also video call us, and we will guide you through the setup
- Assembly service is available if requested and pre-agreed
