A substantial set of 27 original HOWE 40/4 stacking chairs, combining black seat and back shells with the design’s distinctive slim chrome frame. Created by David Rowland, the 40/4 has become particularly well known for turning large quantities of seating into an exceptionally compact stack when the room needs to be cleared.
That makes this matching set particularly useful for conference rooms, training areas, presentation spaces and other multi-purpose environments where seating needs to move between full-room use and compact storage. The 40/4 is built around a particularly efficient stacking format, allowing multiple chairs to nest closely together when they are not required.
All 27 chairs are supplied fully assembled, making them straightforward to put into use on arrival and easy to rearrange or stack as the space changes.

Condition: Great overall condition.
Appearance: The chairs retain a smart and consistent black-and-chrome presentation as a complete set. Most chairs do have visible cosmetic surface marks and scratches from previous use and stacking, particularly to the black seat and back surfaces. These marks are cosmetic and do not affect normal use of the chairs.
Care: Professionally inspected and cleaned.

- Your delivery address must allow access for a 7.5-tonne or larger truck
- Delivery is kerbside only, using a tail lift and pump truck, and is strictly ground floor only
- The courier will call you to arrange a delivery date once your pallet is in their system. Please inform them of any access restrictions
- You can choose the delivery day, but not the exact time — delivery happens anytime between 9am and 5pm, and someone must be available to sign for it
- There is no tracking number or delivery updates, so please make sure you are reachable
🛠 Dismantled Items
- Most items are delivered dismantled and safely packed
- Assembly manuals are not included, but when available:
- We can send helpful videos via WhatsApp
- You can also video call us, and we will guide you through the setup
- Assembly service is available if requested and pre-agreed
